John Scroggins, from Maryland, researches family in Macoupin County. John is a former National Archives employee. He came to the archives in 2002 and gave us advice on how to lessen the expense of our dreams of binding the old ledgers. He told us to get archival made boxes. Whatta guy! Thanks, John. He also suggested other helpful ideas for the county archives. |

In 2003, a
plea went out for donations to buy storage
boxes (picture left) for old ledgers. The plea was successful thanks to the following donors and 130 acid free boxes were purchased in Oct 2003
