John William Rigsbey and Family
at their home in
Chesterfield Macoupin County, Illinois
William Andrew Rigsby's grandparents were William Rigsby and Margaret
Kennedy Rigsby of Garrard, Co. KY.
His parents were John William
Rigsbey and Anna Eliza Conn Rigsbey, who moved from KY to Chesterfield,
IL.
William's brother James T. Rigsbey was more prominent.
William Andrew went by the name "Andy." He was never listed in a census
as living in Chesterfield since he joined the army.
His father
John William Rigsbey was listed starting in 1900. I believe he was there
as early as 1891 when he joined the Methodist church there. He was also
a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, whatever that is! There are a
lot of Rigsbey's buried in a small cemetery called Gelder Cemetery (from
the His Soc Cem Bk - NE corner of the S1/2 of the NW1/4 of Section 10 in
Chesterfield Twp).
