From the WPA Project in the late 1930's.
This cemetery is located on the Henry PRANGE farm about four and one half
miles south of Hornsby; in the N. E. quarter Sec. 23. This cemetery is
also a forgotten cemetery. It sets off in the timber about one and one
half miles from the public road. The fence around this cemetery is new
as Mr. PRANGE told us he just put it up last year because the cattle were
grazing on the cemetery.
The oldest grave is that of Wm. FARRAR who died Nov. 7, 1844.
There are quite a few FARRAR graves in this cemetery when it began. We
cannot find out or what the name of it was, most likely the FARRAR'S started
it. There are 35 graves located here. There are 12 graves to be filled
and 18 to be leveled. There are no veteran's graves to be filled. Eighteen
stones in this cemetery need to be reset and 14 need to be recut. The fence
is good. Two people were interviewed for information concerning this cemetery.

The cemetery is filled with brush and trees are down. Only two stones are
still standing; the rest are all down. This cemetery is in poor condition.

This deed is the only one that mentions the exception for the cemetery.
PRANGE, H. J. bought this land in 1882 from Fritz SCHWEPPE, but it does
not except the cemetery. The land has been in the PRANGE relationship since
1881.
