I have done some further research on the Josiah
Whipple Family buried in this cemetery. I think it will clear up two of
the hard to read tombstones (they are really bad; time hasn’t been good
to them).
Loomis Cemetery
Macoupin County Illinois
Chesterfield Township Section 1
The Whipple family were abolitionists, had a strong faith and members of
the Congregational Church. Very little biographical info is available
about the family. Many of the Church records are now gone….
Deacon Josiah Whipple and Almira Packard Whipple had 3 Children, only 2 of them are buried in this cemetery:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/print.cgi?packard::1044.html
1, Albert A. Whipple – 8 years old in the 1850 US Fed Census,
Chesterfield, Macoupin County, IL. So, he died in 1855, which
would make him 13yrs+
Another photo from Findagrave.com:

2. Sarah J. Whipple – Listing is correct.
3. 3rd daughter, Clara E. Whipple Rew is buried with her father in
Millerton, Wayne County, Iowa.

4. The mother of Deacon Josiah Whipple is also buried in this cemetery:
Sally Batchelder Whipple – In the 1840 US Fed Census, Macoupin county, IL – I believe she is the Female 50 thru 59
She was born Aug 1780, so she would be 59+ years old. Deacon Josiah Whipple didn’t marry until 1841.
