The Macoupin County Archives has the following cemetery information
stored there. The information was gathered by workers for the WPA
Project during the Depression Era 1939 – 1940.
Solomon Cemetery located at NE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Sec. 14 Barr
Township 11. n. R. 9. W.
Oldest grave is that of Joseph M., son of A. M. & J. Solomon who
died Sept. 1, 1857. Age 11 mo. 27 days
No. of lots is 3 and number of graves is 15. Number of graves to
be filled is 3 and number of graves to be leveled is 6. No
veterans graves need stones.
All stones in the cemetery need resetting. Three stones need
recutting.
There are four rods of fence around the cemetery and it is in poor
condition. All rods of fence need to be repaired. Two
people were interviewed for the information concerning this
cemetery. Size of this cemetery is 40 x 32 x 40 x 32.
