Edmund Hendley RICHARDS, Sr (son of Edward and Elizabeth Stewart Richards) was born March 22, 1783 in Henry Co VA, and died September 16, 1840 in Macoupin Co IL. He married Sarah Ann "Sally" WARREN March 22, 1802 in Franklin Co VA, daughter of Zachariah WARREN and Agnes WHITE. Sarah Ann WARREN was born March 22, 1802 in Franklin/Henry Co VA, and died About 1840 in Macoupin Co IL.

Notes:

Edmund Sr is in the 1810 Franklin Co VA Census, page 319, spelled Edmon, with 1-0-0-1-0 males and 2-0-0-1-0 females and 0-0 free persons and slaves.

He went to Robertson Co TN after 1813.

He is in the 1830 Macoupin Co IL census, page 213-3. Also on page 213 of the 1830 Macoupin Co IL Census are his children's families - Edward (213-6), Edmund Jr (213-4), and John (213-5).

Edmund is buried in the Lost "Richards" Cemetery on the Hendley REESE farm in Section 30 in North Otter Township, Macoupin Co IL. A marker for him is in Oak Grove Cemetery, North Palmyra Twp Macoupin Co IL. Others known to be buried in the Lost Cemetery are Edmund's daughter Agnes RICHARDS ADCOCK, son Enoch, two ADCOCK girls, and a RICHARDS baby boy.

i. Edward Nathaniel RICHARDS, born Abt 1804 in Franklin Co VA; died Aft 1880 in Macoupin Co IL. He married Janie C STEWART Bef 1823 in Robertson Co TN. Janie C Stewart was born about 1798 in VA. At least 7 children.

ii. Edmund Hendley RICHARDS, Jr, born Abt 1805 in Franklin Co VA; died January 19, 1875 in Macoupin Co IL. He married (1) Nancy S. He married (2) Maria BUSH HAYS GOOD January 02, 1853 in Macoupin Co IL.

iii. Enoch S RICHARDS, born Abt 1807 in NC or VA; died January 18, 1839 in Macoupin Co IL. He married Jane GIBSON August 16, 1831 in Girard Macoupin Co IL. 3 children.

iv. John A RICHARDS, born Abt 1809 in VA. He married Rebecca.

v. Agnes RICHARDS, born Abt 1810 in VA; died Abt 1853 in North Otter Twp Macoupin Co IL. She married Edward ADCOCK Abt 1825 in TN. (See Descendants of Edward Adcock).

vi. Charity C RICHARDS, born June 24, 1813 in VA; died October 29, 1891 in North Palmyra Twp Macoupin Co IL. She married John CHAPMAN August 18, 1828 in Robertson Co TN. (See Descendants of John Chapman).

vii. Zachariah RICHARDS, born June 18 1815 in VA, died February 27, 1902. He married Mary "Polly" FIELDS March 11, 1832 in Morgan Co IL.

viii. Caleb D RICHARDS, born Abt 1817; He married Nancy GIBSON May 04, 1837 in Macoupin Co IL.

ix. Rhoda Ann RICHARDS, born October 19, 1821 in Robertson Co TN; died January 24, 1882 in Montgomery Co IL. She married William Beatty POTTS December 18, 1834 in Macoupin Co IL.
